A Privacy Notice
The DCI Fund is a small charity registered in 1987 serving the Norman family and a very small number personally known friends who donate to the charity as a tax-efficient way of giving to Christian world mission activities.
The trustees and support line volunteers take very seriously the protection of your personal information as we would for our own.
As a fixed policy we do not intentionally collect your personal information, or process any such data except where required by law to do so in order to to maintain financial records of donations for annual audit and submission to the HMRC, Companies House and the Charity Commission. .
We do not have any record of your financial, banking or card information and the minimal information we may hold is NOT accessible online or stored on our website at www.dci.org.uk which itself is protected against intruders by a number of paid-for security programs.
We are obliged by HMRC to keep accountancy records for six years, and we keep all e-mail records for two years in case of any queries raised by the Charity Commission, and after two years we permanently delete the e-mails.
We do not engage in fund-raising or marketing and never pass on, or sell any of the minimal information we hold to anyone except in the case of news sent to us for publication from partners around the world and even then we will not publish any contact information.
We do receive and answer e-mails and written letters which contain your name and e-mail address and anything else you may communicate to us. A copy of our e-mail correspondence is held by Google G-mail and protected behind their security programs and ours. We do have an address list for our regular supporters and family members held on a PC defended by double passwords and paid for security programs.
Our best understanding from this ICO document is that we do not have to ask readers to give new consent to receive the weekly DCI Minute newsletter if they have already been receiving it. However, if you do not wish to receive it any more we urge you to unsubscribe by clicking here. All new subscriptions are via a form that conforms to GDPR consent regulations.
We are required to inform you if a data breach takes place that affects your information.
We are not required to employ a Data Protection Officer.
You have the right to be informed of the information we hold about you, free of charge and within one month of your request.
You have right of access to information we hold about you; and the right to rectification of mistakes, the right of erasure and the right to ask us to restrict what we do with your information. You have the right to data portability, the right to object to our procedures and the right not be subject to automated profiling and decision making about the use of your data.
You have the right to complain to me personally and also the Information Commissioner’s Office at www.ico.org.uk if you feel there is a problem with the way we handle any data referring to yourself.
