Looking for internship in mission work.

I have no degree but I want to do at least one year in mission work before starting college. I plan on majoring in psychology and help families and teens work through problems. I love to work with people, especially when its the work of God. So if there is a mission that I could help that would be great.

Discreet but faithful Christian presence
Christians here are a tiny minority but through their discreet but faithful presence, through their service, with no ulterior motives, to different strata of society, they challenge not only the inhabitants of the country where they have chosen to live the Gospel, but also Christians of other countries. We visited places where believers are deeply involved in serving the local population.

My Yanomami wants to live no more

I was called from Caracas, from the hospital where Virginia is. She is in a serious health situation. Apart from the colostomy and all her sufferings and pain due to reckless attention, she does not want the doctors to check her, and she refuses to speak or eat. It is a cultural shock for a Yanomami to be away from her tribe for 8 months! She has started to let herself die. I can understand her sorrow, but the doctors are still hopeful. Please pray for her, as we do not know how long she will have to stay in the hospital.

Near bankruptcy to blessing
The Stock Market crash of 1929 caused one businessman to lose over US $40 million in a night. He woke up unable to make any decisions and had a breakdown. Two years later in a sanatorium he encountered God during the singing of the hymn ' Be not dismayed, what e're betide, God will take care of you.' James C. Penney was transformed and discharged from hospital. He put his total trust in God and quickly got back into working very hard to rebuild his business. Before his death in 1971 at 95 yrs, the J.C. Penney Corporation had 1400 department stores, a turnover of US$4 billion and 190,000 employees. J.C. Penney charitable foundations distributed tens of millions of dollars to ministry and mission. It only takes a single encounter with God, in a moment of time, and a person's total life and affairs can be turned from hopelessness to achievement. It all begins with an encounter with God.

The Far Reaching River Of Life
"He who believes in Me, out of his heart will flow
rivers of living water" John 7:38

A river reaches places which its source never knows. Jesus said that, if we have received His fullness, "rivers of living water" will flow out of us, reaching in blessing even "to the end of the earth" (John 7,38; Acts 1,8) regardless of how small the visible effects of our lives may appear to be. We have nothing to do with the outflow because "this is the work of God, that you believe" John 6,29. God rarely allows a person to see how great a blessing he is to others. A river is victoriously persistent, overcoming all barriers. For awhile it goes steadily on its course, but then comes to an obstacle. And for awhile it is blocked, yet it soon makes a pathway around the obstacle. Or a river will drop out of sight for miles, only later to emerge again even broader and greater than ever. Do you see God using the lives of others, but an obstacle has come into your life and you do not seem to be of any use to God? Then keep paying attention to the Source, and God will either take you around the obstacle or remove it. The river of the Spirit of God overcomes all obstacles. Never focus your eyes on the obstacle or the difficulty simply remember to stay focused on the Source, Jesus Christ.

China - Henan Province
Arrest of 170 house church Christians

The believers had assembled for worship when Public Security Bureau officers raided the meeting. They are presently holding 14 leaders, while the rest of the Christians were forced to pay fines before being fingerprinted, warned, and released. The 14 leaders face more serious charges and may be imprisoned. It is usual in such arrests for the leaders to be beaten and tortured at this stage, so they and their families would appreciate your prayers on their behalf. Nanyang County is one of the strongest Christian areas in China. It first experienced a tremendous revival which started in the 1970s and continues to this day. Perhaps 40% to 50% of the 1.1 million population in the county believe in the Lord Jesus, including many entire villages. Over the years it has been the scene of some of China's strongest and most diabolical persecution.

Powerful move of God in the east.
In the Eastern Sierras there is a missionary movement that has already opened six worship centres, no easy thing over here. About 100,000 local people need to be reached with the gospel but the terrain makes it tough going. Nevertheless there is plenty of desire and enthusiasm to go to these people. If anyone would like to cooperate with us e-mail me in Spanish.

Shuar people in the Amazon Jungle.

We can see how the Lord is touching their lives and it is a blessing to see how many are coming to the feet of Jesus. There are another 11,000 natives Shuars that we have not reached yet and we need every kind of help that any church, mission or believer can send. Write in Spanish and I will tell you more.

Thanks to your generosity . .

This page and the 85 free studies have been such a blessing for me personally that we are going to offer them to the children of this area which is far from the city and all its facilities. We lack a lot of things here, not least the word of God and teaching in evangelism.

Best meetings I have ever been to.

This is a yearly celebration in Lincoln, with different venues for different ages. 6,000 people go and camp, many are teenagers like me. It is an amazing time with many a chance to receive Christ, build your faith and to have a lot of fun. Each venue has a worship band.  I went to Synergy and they were the best meetings I have ever been to, everyone experienced something new and many saw God in a totally different way. Next year we will go into the streets of Lincoln and change the city by helping to clean it up and reach out to its people with the word of God.

Fiji: NCTC really about to take off.
Our first student bamboo bungalow will house 10-12 students is almost complete with composting toilets, showers, kitchen, water tank and stove made out of local materials. It looks fantastic. We have students from all over Fiji wishing to come. Our NCTC Bible students are such a joy to teach, so hungry for God and His ways. They are never late for class, or absent, except for one of our boys who was bringing a pig in a box back from Dreketi by bus. As he was waiting for the bus the pig escaped and swam the deepest river in Fiji chased by the student. This is the best story I have ever heard why a student was absent. Pastors from the Solomon Islands wish to send students and I have e-mails from Haiti asking for our help to set up a Training Centre over there. It is a joy to be able to help others who are walking the same road.

UK: The Alpha Course - a big hit !
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith and consists of a series of talks addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith. It is for everyone especially those wanting to investigate Christianity. It's free and there are over 24,000 courses running all over the world. It is by far and away the most sucessful Christian outreach in the UK and one of the few approaches that has been a hit with the secular British public all the way from Buckingham Palace down to the homeless.

Missionary most of my life.
I'm 47 years old and married, trained in administration and a church member, with five kids. For seven years I was a missionary to prisoners and then I spent five years with the native Warao people in the jungles of Venezuela. Right now I am at a standstill for health reasons and feeling very sad about it becauser there is nothing better in life than serving Jesus.
