From Silas Ramos Palomino, Peru
I am in San Jose, a village in the jungle two hours walk in rain and mud from Chanchamayo. Four people just accepted Jesus. Here there is a tremendous need for people in this area who can teach the Bible because there are no pastors to help the new believers. I will be here for a week trying to teach them the ways of God.  When I go there will be nobody left here to teach them the word of God. The Lord is giving me a great love for the Ashaninkas. It is a full day's walk to reach them, but many of them have never heard of Jesus.  As soon as I get back to Tacna I will begin to prepare a second missionary journey to the jungles here.

From Rosanna Loewen, Paraguay
Here in Paraguay many of our town squares are filled with children who have time to listen and time to play.  They are children who have no education and they know nothing about the word of God.  It is not only the children who are in need bu their homes as well.  There are many poor families that have no work and others who do not see any reason to work and earn their own daily bread.  Please pray for families like these that they may have a deep change and above all that they might come to know the greatness of our Lord.

From Pastor Alexis Calderon, Yuba City, USA
We are hoping to start a new Bible schools for people from different churches.  I have been reading your pages and it seems to me that the principles you teach and the way you do it is an answer from God for our needs here.  We will be grateful for your advice because there's nothing like this in our region in the north of California.

Lots of Free Things and Offers

From: Our colleagues visiting tribal areas of Indonesia
Have not been well for these last few days as I pulled a muscle but it has eased a little today, heat is also getting to me. The situation in Indonesia is deteriorating each day and today's papers reveal that in the Parliamentary battle between them and the Prime Minister, a dozen or so are being killed each day. We are being covered by prayers also here and we are being wise to the situation. We hope to have a meeting with the Indonesian pastor who was refused entry by the mountain people leaders and is now serving in a chinese fishing village.  He may need a boat instead of a bike. He is Chinese and we wonderd if his nationality is the cause of the refusal.  So our prayers is to know God's will in all this especially regarding Indonesia.

From Guillermo Esquivel, Melbourne, Australia
Today was my first chance to read this page and get up-to-date with all that is happening around the world.  Many blessings to everyone in that name above all names, the name of Jesus our Lord.

From Maiko Cabrera, Tegucigalpa, Honduras
I'm 21 years old and an active member of my church.  I serve in the music group, I play guitar, bass guitar and the keyboard.  I'm also one of the leaders of the young people and recently I have felt in my heart the need to become involved with the Great Commission.  In fact just lately it seems everything I do and everywhere I go has to do with missions.  Does anyone have any information about mission trips which are available for people living in Honduras?

From: Caleb O. Seda, Nairobi, Kenya
I am seeing tremendous move of the Holy Spirit in breaking strongholds of Satan in people's lives. Many people who had proved difficult are falling into the call of salvation so readily. This is a remarkable eye opening tool that God has developed through you. I will be updating you on every progress in our evangelisation activities of which so far we are most pleased with. Keep on praying for the salvation of many souls. May God bless you and increase you in every device of His grace.

The Missions and Money Forum

From Dr. Joseph D'Souza, All India Christian Council
The Indian church is presented with challenges of enormous proportions. It will either stand or fall by the stand it takes during the coming months to be true to Christ and His message. India needs worldwide prayer for peace among communities in the midst of tumultuous changes. Pray for the Dalit and the Backward Castes, 75% of the nation, as they face change. Pray for the leadership in the nation and pray for the Indian Church. Pray for the rule of law against all who are engaging in violence. Pray for the social needs of India's majority peoples and pray for all the Christian leaders in the midst of tumultuous changes. Pray for wisdom, compassion and courage.

From Miguel Vargas, Machuca, Lima, Perú
We are looking for people to sponsor children are all victims of AIDS. One of the projects that we are doing with the help of a chocolate factory is to train ladies who live with AIDS victims, in how to make chocolate.  We will really welcome your prayers for the Lord to help us with our work. We are a Christian organisation and we share the gospel and give pastoral care to people who are caring for others in the last stages of AIDS.

From Graham Crosbie, Sussex, England
Ram Babu, an Indian evangelist, visited our church for a series of special meetings.  He is from a Hindu background, saved at the age of 18, and has a powerful evangelistic and healing ministry.  We had special evening meetings and Ram Babu preached at our Sunday meeting too. We were witnesses to the grace and power of God.  Many people responded at the altar call.  Many people were miraculously healed.

From Mañosh Fabian, Argentina
I wanted to tell you that our first national missions conference in Mercedes, Argentina was absolutely unforgettable. The missionary who spoke to us gave us some tremendous teaching and the Lord used the event to awaken the whole congregation.  We had three days of the greatest blessings and now we feel responsible to pray for the nations, in my case for Thailand.

From Tony Attwood, Surrey, England
And seeing them distressed. He intended to pass by them. Mark 6:48. If Jesus intends to pass by that must be best.  Whether that involves relieving our situation as the unseen Servant or meeting us in fulfilment on the other side - Jesus sees it all and is only a call away if needed.

From Lidia Rossi, Argentina
Have you ever thought that the car that God has given you which you use to go comfortably from here to there, could also be the legs and the means of transport for a crippled person?  Have you ever stopped to think how many people have lost their legs and need the help of Christian people to get to meetings and receive the same blessings that everyone else receives? Be encouraged to make an effort, the Lord needs your goodwill in order to do his will. You know it's true that disabled people can also come to know Jesus.

From Christian Echeverria, Ecuador
We are a new organisation and our goal is to rescue the young people of our country through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We have made our plans to reach the town of Guayaquil, in Ecuador and in fact we will keep going into all the world.  Our organisation has to provide its own support but our goal is to reach into every corner of our city.  We need lots of help such as leaflets, films and other materials in Spanish. We also need help to follow up the people who are interested and we need material for children, for young people, for the family and for professionals.  We really welcome all the advice you can give us, in Spanish.

From Marion Male, Fiji, South Pacifi
Sunday 8th July, saw the launching of a Revival Mission by The 'Assembly of Christian Churches' in Fiji. This was held at the Albert Park, in Suva and estimates say the crowd was about 7 to 10,000. In fact one of the pastors who was trying to organise a bus for his people was informed that all the buses have been booked and there was none left. The meeting was attended by 20 different Christian denominations and it was the first time ever for some of the leaders to be seen together on the same platform, hugging each other worshipping and praying together. There is a 24hr prayer right through till Saturday.

From Pastor Octavio Montero, Santiago, Chile
We have a School of Mission in Chile where we prepare people who are called to go into the nations. At the moment we have 25 students and seven missionaries, two of whom will be travelling to Albania in March 2002. We are also working in the villages of Chile, some in the mountains, some on the coast.  We see the great need to invest in these places which have never been reached with the gospel, even in our own country. Our motto is from Chile to the world.

From Julio Cesar Gasparini, Puerto Deseado, Argentina
I am a missionary in Patagonia, Argentina. I was born in Brazil and my wife is from Chile. I am the leader of our church and we have a congregation of 70 people. We would like to hear from anyone who wants to come and work in mission with us. We can provide accommodation and hospitality for all who feel the missionary call.

From Bruce H. Welch, Riverside, CA. USA
I am using the course in my cell group bible studies. I am a tentmaker, planting a church in the skidrow area of our town.

From Dan & Dave Davidson, about Ghana
Please pray for Rick Whitcomb and family and workers in Accra, Ghana who suffered severe damage Thursday last week when, after severe torrential rains, a big wave made up of rain and sewage came and damaged their compound. The TV studio suffered major damage and the rear wall of the compound collapsed, allowing snakes to enter.

From José Luis (Argentina), Belfast, N. Ireland
Nasty, sad and heart-breaking as they may seem, the news about Belfast does not depict the general situation in the city. The latest riots took place in no more than five blocks of North Belfast far from where I live. The rest of the city perspires tranquility, though of a rather a 'tense' sort. The distance does not rule out my sorrow. Quite the contrary, it encourages me to pray for this city and its people. Fortunately, I'm not alone. At Christian Fellowship Church half the service was dedicated to pray for reconciliation through mercy. Besides, there's taking place a prayer summit by different denominations at St Anne's Cathedral organised by the Divine Healing Ministries. I shall be there each day.

Who are we here ?

From Cristina and Alberto Rosa, Argentina
This is an urgent prayer request.  A 9 year-old boy in our congregation has just had a serious operation. Last week the doctors discovered that he had a tumour in his head which was growing very quickly. His name is Robert Emanuel.  If you would like to send a note of encouragement to his parents we will make sure that they receive it.  Thank you.

Dear readers, as you all will know there has been a very big earthquake here in the south of Peru. I myself have been working to help to rescue people who were trapped in the buildings.  Up to now we have more than 100 dead, 70 people have disappeared and 50,000 people have lost their homes.  Please pray for us.

From Andrew Godfrey, new missionaries in Cameroon
Things are going well for us here in Cameroon.  The rainy season has shown that our house has a leak in the roof.  After 30 minutes of rain we collected 20 litres of water. Our children, Nathan and Stephen have made a number of friends but still seem a little unsettled at times.  They can't really explain what they are feeling or why they are felling strange.  We think they occasionally feel home sick. Work is going well though Hazel is feeling under pressure at times and pulled in many directions.  I am really enjoying work and love helping the Wycliffe translators and support teams solve their computer problems.

From Val Browne, South Africa
Thank you for the newsletter for July, it shows me just how many Christians are busy doing God's work, and therefore needing much prayer. I pray that the Lord will bless you and your fellow workers at DCI, and also multiply your finances, and deepen the interests of the workers in Christ.  I pray that the lethagy that seems to envelope the world regarding the Bible does not interfere with your work. You are all very precious to me, and I thank the Lord for your enthusiasm for His work.

From Caleb O. Seda, Nairobi, Kenya
Nairobi is experiencing the riches in the timing of the Lord God. DCI Trust materials in the working of the Holy Spirit have brought a new life in God's people in Kenya. Everybody who hears of the bible course comes to us running. Pray with us that we will be able to supply them with materials.

Have you asked Jesus into your life ?

Millions of men, women and children all over the world know the love of God for themselves and have decided to ask Jesus to be their Saviour, Lord and friend now and for all eternity. If you haven't taken that most important of all decisions yet, right now is always the very best time. For us over twenty-four years of following him, Jesus has proven himself to be our helper, our provider, our protector and shelter from the storms of life.
Can we help you with this
Prayer for you to pray ?

I feel that I should give everything,
until there is not a single pain, a single misery,
a single sin left in all the world.
I should give all to the Lord, all the time.
I should give my life.
