So close to the
Christian affluence yet so far away |
Here in Cuba there
is a desperate shortage of all kinds of Bibles and materials.
The few that trickle through are not enough for the number of
pastors here. We need Bible materials, conference handouts about
any Christian topic, and your daily prayer support. We would
especially like to be friends with a church in the UK or maybe
Europe.

Missions trip to
Korea |
Dear beloved brother
Les, I have been away for sometime now to South Korea on a mission
trip to speak at a Pastors and Lay Leaders Conference. I spoke
on Successful Christian Leadership and Principles of Church
Growth and also visited many churches in Korea to share the
word of life and faith with them all. I thank the Lord Jesus
Christ for confirming His word with signs, miracles and wonders.
Daniel C. Patrick, World Christian
Revival, Accra.
§ Hello Pastor Daniel, thank you writing
with your news, it is always good to hear from you. I was very
blessed to hear how the Lord has opened the door for you as
a Ghanaian to go and teach in Korea which is a very different
culture to yours, and a land that has sent out thousands of
missionaries. Welcome home. God bless, keep and prosper you
in the harvest fields of your own nation.

I need a part-time multi-lingual assistant with at least
Spanish and English, and some French and Portuguese if possible
to help me provide support by e-mail. Just a few hours a week.
You can live anywhere in the world. If you long to go but have
to stay at home, then the world will come to you, or maybe this
would be ideal for a former pastor or missionary. No-one here
at DCI gets a salary but we do help each other.

Global Christian Trends |
How long till the
Commission is complete ? |
The Great Commission
is not complete but the 20th Century saw a large number of plans
for global mission, and the number is constantly growing. Although
90% of mission is still targeted at people who are already Christians
a growing number of previously unreached people groups are becoming
open for the Gospel.

We are 25 Pastors
working together . . |
Our cause is the preaching
the gospel and encouraging the churches in various places of
this region. We hold a whole night prayer every month and then
we conduct outreaches 4 times in a month. In April we were called
to preach at Chirala for 3 days, My 2 sons and the pastors were
there to preach the word of God. At the end of the convention,
12 people received Lord as their personal Saviour. I have baptised
them in the Bay of Bengal where the Tsunami took away the people.
We appreciate your partnership in this work of our Lord. May
God bless you richly for what you have done to the least of
your brothers in this heathen country
Pastor Benjibab Yelchuri, AP.

§ We are recommending the integrity
of Pastor Benjibab and Mrs Krupa and their work to you. Fell
free to visit their website and make contact directly with them,
maybe you can help him to do more, go further and take care
of more poor children and villagers. They have a lifetime of
experience to offer you and have paid a price for their faith
and leadership.

$100,000,000 to fight AIDS in India |
When the richest man in the world
announced 2 years ago that he would give away $100 million to fight AIDS
in India, he might have expected thanks. Instead, Microsoft
chairman Bill Gates was criticized by the government then in
power in India for "spreading panic" and "completely inaccurate
data" after he quoted predictions that the number of Indians
infected with HIV and AIDS would top 20 million to 25 million
by 2010 which would double today's global HIV/AIDS population
and shift the epidemic's centre from Africa to India."

important TIME feature article about understanding the spread
of AIDS in India and why that is, and the possibility
of a vaccine. We recommend it to you.

Nurlan's lost herd
leads him to Jesus |
In the moonlight a
man and his 12-year-old brother, are hurrying over the hills
near the Chinese border searching for their family's most valuable
possession, a herd of 280 sheep. Nurlan, the 12-year-old, had
left the herd alone for two hours and when he returned, the
herd was nowhere to be seen, and wolves hunt there. Nurlan was
afraid of his mother, who would punish him harshly for losing
just one sheep! After hours of searching, they finally gave
up. Nurlan's elder brother had heard the Gospel in jail, and
become a Christian. He said "we must pray!" Nurlan was surprised.
Pray? He had tried that once by standing in front of a statue
of Stalin, crossing himself and praying "Stalin, please help
us." Now his brother was praying to Jesus. He too prayed a few
words to Jesus that they would find the herd. Nurlan sensed
a deep peace, and suddenly saw the whole herd in a hidden side
valley, complete and unharmed. Nurlan's heart leapt, Jesus had
answered their prayers. Today, Nurlan is studying at a Bible
school with other Kyrgyz youths and praying to find lost people,
not sheep, who need to find their way back to their shepherd,
Jesus. Source: DMG Informiert

your encouragements I now know that I am not going it alone
but there are those who are with me in prayers.

Praying together
across the world |
Hello Les, we prayed
for you and for your spirit to travel around the slum with us.
It was a truly awesome night. We went to every house in the
slum and prayed for each family and each house had a worship
song or two. We also distributed two sports shirts to each of
the 50 kids and had a animal balloon making party for them.
It was truly an unbelievable anointed evening. We left the slum
feeling completely exhausted but truly blessed. You and your
prayers really made a difference to ours and your outreach in
the Shan slums last night.
Gareth, Aree and Family
§ Prayer is the most simple and the
most remarkable and powerful ministry that is open to everyone
who believes. Distance is no problem, you simply agree a time,
adjust it for your time zone, and turn to Jesus together across
the miles. Then wait and see what happens. Why not ask the Lord
to give you some prayer partners around the world, e-mail makes
everything so easy. You are always welcome to pray for us !

God still does
miracles today. |
I know a ten-year-old
boy who was hit by a speeding car. His brain damage was so severe
that every day for four days his family were told he would die.
They asked God for a miracle and slowly but surely that which
could not happen did. Over the next six months his speech and
movement returned, over the following year he was able to leave
his wheelchair and walk, and today he leads a healthy, active
life. He became a university lecturer, soon to receive a PhD,
and plays in a successful Christian rock band. I know it’s true;
that person is me. God also works miracles in our emotions.
He can heal our hearts from the pain and baggage that humans
collect over the years. The most important miracle is when God
forgives your sins and gives you a new start.

An evil-eye from Turkey, or is it ? |
A friend brought back
a souvenir from Turkey which looks like a kind of evil-eye.
Should this be allowed in our houses. Do you know anything about
this blue eye ?
MW, Nottinghamshire
§ OK, what you have seen is a very
popular souvenir from Turkey. Traditionally, it is believed
that a simple glass blue eye can ward off evil and bring luck
and success. You see blue eyes hanging in Turkish homes, shops
and in jewellery. It is a bit of European folk-lore, ancient
superstition, call it what you will, not Christian in origin.
It is intended to give magical protection against the actual
evil-eye curse, a bit like crucifixes or St.Christopher's medals
worn by superstitious people. It is probably not the "evil-eye"
of medieval religion which was a curse that was and still is
put on people in rural parts of Europe. It is probably not the
evil eye symbol of Masonry, which is on the US dollar note.
Whatever your friend has it is no aid to faith and freedom.
Personally I would not have it in my house, nor any of the popular
batik souvenirs from Asia which have pictures of the gods in
the designs. If you are interested
this page
has a history of the evil eye.
Troubled by superstitions, curses, evil-eyes ? Reach out to
Jesus, welcome Him into life and you will see just how quickly
God sets you free from all these things.

The Purpose Driven
Covenant By Rick Warren |
Today I am stepping
across the line. I'm tired of waffling, and I'm finished with
wavering. I've made my choice; the verdict is in; and my decision
is irrevocable. I'm going God's way. There's no turning back
now! I will live the rest of my life serving God's purposes
with God's people on God's planet for God's glory. I will use
my life to celebrate his presence, cultivate his character,
participate in his family, demonstrate his love, and communicate
his Word. Since my past has been forgiven, and I have a purpose
for living and a home awaiting in heaven, I refuse to waste
any more time or energy on shallow living, petty thinking, trivial
talking, thoughtless doing, useless regretting, hurtful resenting,
or faithless worrying. Instead I will magnify God, grow to maturity,
serve in ministry, and fulfil my mission in the membership of
his family.
Because this life is preparation for the next, I will value
worship over wealth, "we" over "me," character over comfort,
service over status, and people over possessions, position,
and pleasures. I know what matters most and I'll give it all
I've got. I'll do the best I can with what I have for Jesus
Christ today. I won't be captivated by culture, manipulated
by critics, motivated by praise, frustrated by problems, debilitated
by temptation, or intimidated by the devil. I'll keep running
my race with my eyes on the goal, not the sidelines or those
running by me. When times get tough and I get tired, I won't
back up, back off, back down, back out, or backslide. I'll just
keep moving forward by God's grace. I'm Spirit-led, purpose-driven,
and mission-focused, so I cannot be bought, I will not be compromised,
and I shall not quit until I finish the race. I'm a trophy of
God's amazing grace so I will be gracious to everyone, grateful
for everyday, and generous with everything that God entrusts
to me.
To my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I say: However, whenever,
wherever, and whatever you ask me to do, my answer in advance
is yes! Wherever you lead and whatever the cost, I'm ready.
Anytime. Anywhere. Anyway. Whatever it takes Lord; whatever
it takes! I want to be used by you in such a way that on that
final day I'll hear you say, "Well done, thou good and faithful
one. Come on in, and let the eternal party begin!"

Our
Last Word for Today |
Do things get harder
when you get older ? |
Is it true that things
that didn't used to bother you, do now? It happens to us all,
I have been feeling so low in spirit lately and felt that my
relationship with God was really dwindling. I even started to
convince myself that I didn't know the Lord. I was so worried
about this spiritual low that I re-committed my life to Him
again this morning. The enemy attacks in many ways, my mistake
was I was listening to him and not to God and I felt that everything
I had gone through with God was for nothing and that my life
was worth absolutely nothing in Gods eyes. I saw my salvation
slipping away that's how bad and low I felt spiritually. That's
why I had to act and re-commit my life to Him again.
This morning was awesome after I re-committed myself to Him
again, I feel re-born all over again. I also feel that I had
not lost Him but it was just Satan's lies, but I feel stronger
for my renewal and re-dedication to our Lord Jesus. I thank
and praise His holy name for the reassurance that I had not
fallen from the path or given up on God and I praise His name
for showing me how much of a lying, cheating, stealing force
Satan really is. I thank God for not giving up on me and for
still loving me, when I was almost reaching rock bottom. Don't
let life or Satan get you down, we have to remain with faith
in Gods promise that everything will be fine and He is big enough
to truly see us through to the end and that no problem is to
big for Him to handle. God is our only true source of life so
let's keep focussed on Him and who He really is, and our position
in Christ's family.
