Send books here  . . .

Thank you so much for offering to help, anything you do will be a blessing and will help to overcome the book famine in Africa. Here are the addresses, choose whichever one you like, because we want equip them all these Schools of Mission with a small lending library.  For people in the United Kingdom the instructions to get the right Royal Mail service are at the end. It will be similar elsewhere in the world.

Many thanks, we appreciate you, and so will the students and leaders in Africa.

Instructions for sending by Royal Mail from the UK

The Post Office charge about £31 for a parcel of a maximum of 5 kilos weight.
Ask for International Signed For Surface Mail Printed Papers. Ask for a receipt/proof of posting.

On the Customs Declaration you put Gift, and for contents: used books for school use.
Value £39 which is the compensation Royal Mail gives if they lose the parcel.

What you need to do first of all is separate the hardback, heavy books from the paperback books.  I do not think that you can send the hard back books economically so I suggest that you leave them to one side.  32  or 33 paperback books weigh a little less than 5 kg which is ideal.

All I do is put elastic bands around three bricks of 10 or 11 books each to hold them together.  Then I wrap the 33 books in a layer of bubblewrap and tape it up solid with some brown parcel tape.  I then wrap this solid brick of books in a strong black plastic bin liner, and then wrap a second black plastic bin liner around that.  I then very heavily tape the package with the brown parcel tape, put on the label and go down to the Post Office.

In he event of non-delivery after 3 months Royal Mail will issue compensation to the value of £39 on receipt of a claim form.
