Good evening ladies and gentleman. First I like to thank the Pastor for inviting me here to share with you how the Lord has changed my life.

Well I was born into a Kurdish Muslim family. My parents were holding to Islam very lightly and were not into it. They did not practice it. From age six I was sent to Quranic classes by my grandfather and I learned to memorize parts of the Quran by heart. But I was not satisfied with Islam, so I did spent some time in agony as I was crying out to God to show me what is truth and what not is true. In Islam I could not find what my heart longed for. Basically I had a negative view of Islam.

One day I was at a bookstore with my girlfriend and she picked up a book and told me that I would enjoy It cause she had read the book. The book Is called Siddartha, by Herman Hesse. As I was reading the book thinking to myself this is what I need. The book was based on the life of Buddha. So what do I do? I go and become a Buddhist. I did find some happiness but I did not find anything for the inner longing of the heart. It was than that I realised my inner spiritual struggle.

One day out of nowhere a missionary approaches me and tells me about Jesus Christ and the Bible. I had some questions in my head after they were cleared up I asked for a Bible and he also gave me a paper that said what I needed to become a Christian. So I go home and after going over the paper...I decided that I am not gonna become a Christian and forget Christianity. I put the paper away. In fact I put it in a book that I was recently reading. That morning when I got up it was four in the morning, I felt something very strange on my chest. When I got up it was the paper. How did it get there I don't know, but it was a turning point in my life. I was fighting God, but the battle was won and I lost. And now I was saying Lord you have won, you could now have my life. Months later after finishing the New Testament I was finally able to say Ah! Now I know what its all about. I finally found what my heart was longing for. Not only that I was able to find a peace that satisfies my heart but also I found many answers to my questions about life. Of all of the books that I have read I have not found anything more fulfilling to the heart of man than the Bible. Jesus Christ was the one that I was looking for, He was the only one that takes away my spiritual hunger.

Is the bible reliable?

The Bible has been proven by secular archaeology that the events that took place in the Bible have happened. Every place and Island that is mentioned in the book of Acts has been found. Not Just the historical authenticity of the Bible, but archaeological findings, hundreds of fulfilled prophecies and the way nations have been built on the Bible. The most important evidence is that it changes lives.

Has the Bible been changed?

When a person looks at the Quran and the Quran says all kind of beautiful things about the Bible, he goes and tries to read and find out what the Bible is. Sometimes he may find what appear to be differences with what the Quran says. So, as a way to protect the Quran, the claim is that the Bible is changed - but there is no evidence. There are over 24,000 New Testaments that date back to 300 AD and 100 AD. If these manuscripts are the same as the Bible today, how could some say that it has been changed? God is powerful enough to protect his words and keep them safe.

But you call Jesus the Son of God?

Some people hearing this title may feel offended, saying: "How could God have sex? How could God have a wife in order to have a son?". But God never had sex with Mary. Jesus was not born by a physical relationship between God and Mary, rather he existed before coming to Earth and He is a Son to God in a spiritual way.
