Scott Bower says I love the Pocock quote when talking about the
Christmas Parties with the Poor "For all the efficiency of rapid
communication and border obliterating technology, personal
relationships and simple acts of kindness may, in the end, constitute
the best strategies (for mission) and they may have the most appeal in
a post-modern era." Excellent stuff!

You
are not alone. Yours are the experiences of those who "follow the
footsteps of the flock." It's a well trodden path. Give yourself to
love the Lord. Gradually He will replace other things that may have
been man's doing or your own doing and you will find they drop away
spontaneously. Its dangerous to try to drop things yourself and then
expect that God will fill the void because it can leave us "Clean, swept and put in order,"
and you know what comes next. We are a work in progress and its a big
realisation that its OK to be who we are on the way to who we will be.
Tis mercy all.

Les
Norman, the editor says while we are on this hot subject this
book titled Churchless Faith
should be made compulsory for every church leader. It's an easy to
read professional analysis of why over 500 people after an average of
15 years in church, many in leadership, have left church but not Christ
yet most have grown stronger in their faith and service. Spirited
Exchanges is their forum with over 6,000,000 hits.

DCI
has never been a fund-raising organisation nor do we make appeals, send
out magazines or ask for offerings, rather we are a gathering point for
people who feel called to giving for the benefit of the last, the lost
and the least of the world. As Pastor Oswald Smith famously said in the
1930's, "If you can't go yourself, then for God's sake, send someone
else."
ABOUT THE EDITOR
Les
Norman is a journalist, writer and a fund manager with the
DCI Fund, serving the lost, the last and the least of the world. Since
1977 he has been following the call of Christ. He is married to Pilar
and they have three grown up children.
