The Weekend
When Pastor Paul and his wife
in Saouga, Burkina Faso
went to bible
school they had no money and ended up in a building that had been an
open toilet. They cleaned their house but it still smelled so bad they
couldn't eat inside. Often Paul's wife had no food so she would boil a
pot of water so that people wouldn't know they had nothing to eat. She
gave birth alone in the middle of the night as Paul was working away in
fields to feed them. Keith Smith says that despite
their poverty and
suffering their testimony of God's faithfulness and their commitment
and love for Jesus puts us westerners to shame.

DCI
has never been a fund-raising organisation nor do we make appeals, send
out magazines or ask for offerings, rather we are a gathering point for
people who feel called to giving for the benefit of the last, the lost
and the least of the world. As Pastor Oswald Smith famously said in the
1930's, "If you can't go yourself, then for God's sake, send someone
else."
ABOUT THE EDITOR
